If you provide your cat with a natural diet, you will be coming closer to the diet she would have in the wild. This is better for your pet than giving her the usual cat food formulations.
One of the reasons that obesity rates are up among our pets is because we are over feeding them and they are becoming overweight.
Cats are naturally carnivores and have high protein needs. So if you are trying to give your pet a natural diet, you will want to give her large amounts of protein, around 60%. This should onsist of organic ground beef, organic or raw chicken, eggs as well as fish and other meats.
You can also give her about 20% vegetables and grains. This can consist of broccoli, zuccini, carrots, corn, cauliflower or any other vegetables that your cat likes.
So if you want to provide your pet with a better diet, avoid highly processed artificial foods and avoid flavorings, colorings, soymeal and give them a natural diet instead. It is closer to their natural diet in the wild and will give you a healthier cat.
Of course there are other things you can do to keep them in top health, like making sure they have regular vet checkups and adequate exercise. A good supply of cat toys and an owner who plays with them can give them some of this exercise, helps bonding with your cat too.
