I have a large short haired grey cat named Marble. He is a "gentle giant" but not very cooperative when being groomed. I have tried to "reward" him with treats, gentle talk, and massages. I wondered if anyone has used any kind of herb, etc., that would calm him down so I can finish the job. Thanks!

Why are there dog/cat treats that can only be given to pets a few times a day? Are they fattening? I was looking at some of the ingredients of a premium pet food and I was thinking: If pets love their food so much (assuming they do), couldn’t you just give them a grain of dog/cat food instead of a dog treat as a reward? Both have meat-like stuff in it, both satisfy the pet, and isn’t the pet food better for them?
Is there some specific component in dog/cat treats that make them so much more appealing than pet food AND makes them so bad for them that they can only be given treats a few times a day?
I have 2 cats and one yorkie terrier. My large 20lb 6 year old long haired black cat receives one little flea bit and she breaks out miserably, and pulls her hair out.
I have my yard treated, both cats and dog treated. I even put a flea collar on her and that is something I am against because of the extra extreme chemicals in it. But she still is getting bit. We don’t have a major infestation but the little puppy keeps bringing them in. They are not reproducing or multiplying just one bit cause grate strain on my little poor kitty. The other animals are not quite as sensitive. I am looking for more natural effective ways to help her. I feel like the amount of chemicals needed are worse than the rash it’s self.
First and formost what I currently use is vet recomended including advantage because the fleas in our area have become immune to frontline.
I appreciate all the advice and thank you for the time given. Unfortunately on these things you can’t get as detailed as you need until you get responses that assume what you haven’t written.
First- I only use vet approved including the current collar that does work only to repel the fleas but it has helped but it’s nothing but a Band-Aid for the original issue and not as effective as what I had hoped to find by asking for some advice.
Second – I treat my animals like my kids and better than most people. I agree not all natural is good as well as not all un-natural is bad. I will research in detail every suggestion given to me before I will even attempt to put them on my pet. Keep the suggestions coming I will be open to try anything save, effective, tried and true, and I haven’t tried it yet.
