Poor old Batman. He pecks at the worm, but he’s out by several cms. With one eye wonky, he’s having trouble picking up the inch worm. Sady (hubby’s cat) found it for me! She was thinking about eating, but prefers her special hypoallergenic, /can, cat food! He eventually picked it up off of my hand, but this is going to take awhile! www.thepetitionsite.com www.wysong.net Midland, Michigan Nestec SA (better known as Nestle), parent company of Purina, a pet food manufacturer based in St. Louis, Missouri, and Wysong Corporation, a health education and nutritional development company in Midland, Michigan, have filed suits against one another in the Eastern District Federal Court in Missouri. The suits are related to a technology invented by Dr. Wysong in the early 1980s to enrobe pet and human foods with probiotics. These are health giving organisms, such as found in yogurt, that can boost the immune system, fight pathogens, produce nutrients and growth factors, and help digestion. Although Wysong did not seek a patent, it has used the technology in both animal and human foods since the early 1980s. Due in large part to Wysongs educational efforts and product development, probiotics have become a part of the collective health consciousness of the public and food industry. Of late, many natural pet food companies have begun using Dr. Wysongs technology as well. Nestle/Purina obtained a patent granted in 1999 for the same technology. To this date, however, Purina has not incorporated probiotics in its own products—although its patent describes in detail the many health benefits of probiotics. Instead, it is attempting to prevent Wysong and other companies from using probiotics unless a licensing fee (tax) is paid to Purina. A patent is not valid if the invention (prior art) exists in the public domain …
My cat was quite sicky and i discovered that he was hardly ever sick on premium dry food only diet. He dies at 17 of old age but kidney failier was the actual thing
so i adopt a cat 2 years ago from an animal shelter. The gave me information on the import ants of giving cat meat as dry food only causes kidney problems and urine infections. so i felt maybe it was my fault my first cat died of kidney failier.
I am looking to adopt a new cat but they don’t have a suitable cat so i have gone to another shelter and they recommend dry premium food as it is more cost effective and healthier.
I am confused. has anyone got any good sources information from their own experiences?
thanks in advance.
i leave out supermarket dry food and fresh water but feed cat meat three times a day as i know cats are grazers. I have been doing this 28 months since i adopted him and the shelter told me to. I much prefer premium dry food and seeing as no one has heard of it being bad i think i will switch him to it and the new addition.

Struvite crystals are also referred to as triple phosphate (magnesium ammonium phosphate), and when several crystals join together to form stones, they can become life-threatening to the cat. These stones can range in shape and size, and when they block the urinary tract, they can quickly lead to kidney failure. The incidence of struvite crystals in cats coincides exactly with the advent and widespread use of dry commercial cat foods. These diets became popular in the 1970′s, and since that time, cats have been subjected to this very painful and unnecessary condition. (These ‘foods’ were not developed for the optimal health of cats, but rather for the convenience of the owner, and for the profits of the commercial pet food manufacturers.) The cause of struvite crystals in cats is dry commercial pet foods. Due to the lack of moisture in the diet, the urine becomes too concentrated, and due to the use of plant-based ingredients in dry kibble, the urine becomes too alkaline. An alkaline environment in very concentrated urine predisposes struvite formation. Struvite crystals do not tend to appear in a more acidic environment and where the urine is more dilute. The cat is not a natural water drinker, as it has evolved over millions of years, in a very arid part of the planet, and derived most of its moisture from its prey. Consequently, the domestic cat which is fed a diet of dry foods is chronically dehydrated. Acidifying the diet with veterinary prescription diets does not …
MORE INFO AT: www.HomeOrganicGarden.net If your vegetable garden is not yielding much or your flowers from the flower bed look nothing like the plush ones shown in a magazine then it is a sign that your plants are lacking vital nutrients. The best way to ensure your plants get these nutrients is by making a simple choice. Choose organic gardening compost instead of the chemical ones. The result will vary tremendously. The health of the plants in your garden is important as our own health. It should never be ignored. Health of a vegetable garden also affects the people who consume the vegetables. Organically prepared compost is easy to make and is cheaper than the chemical fertilizers. Compost is the best way to give your plants all the vital nutrients it needs. Compost is almost like a plant food. It has all the nutrients needed by your plant in the right amounts. Plants absorb nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus from the soil through the roots. Compost provides it with all these nutrients which sometimes lack in the soil naturally. It is most importantly chemical-free. MORE INFO AT www.HomeOrganicGarden.net Organic compost generally is insoluble and stays in the soil longer than the chemical ones. Therefore it restores the nutrients the soil may have lost due to plants or leeching caused by chemical fertilizers. A good fertile soil is the important necessity in maintaining a garden. Since organic compost is thicker and insoluble than its chemical counterparts, it traps …
I’m wanting dry AND canned cat food that’s most affordable and natural. The best I could find was Natural Balance Ultra Premium Dry for .47 at six pounds. I’m considering using canned tuna or salmon instead of canned cat food (is that better in water or vegetable oil?).
