Misconceptions About Pet Food

Misconceptions About Pet Food – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. There are people that have a lot of perceptions about dog food and cat food and health in general, and really a lot of misconceptions about it. So the first one is that it is really expensive. The bottom line for most dog food, it is going to cost you about the same amount of money price per day, so that would be the number one. Another one is that people do not seem to know or care a lot of times where their dog food is made. They do not know if it is made by somebody who really cares about what they are doing like Natura or Champion do, all they care about is price. Or a lot of the common perceptions that I get from people or common statements are “Well, my dog likes it” or “I do not want to gamble with anything else” or “It is just fine, whatever, whatever, whatever” and “There is nothing I can do about” that sort of thing – I really care about my dog and my cat, and I want to give them good food that is going to help them.” And so the perceptions to me, I have to investigate the perceptions, because most peoples’ perception seems to come from advertisement or information on the web.

Our pets, cats and dogs, are becoming obese and diabetic. Why are our dogs and cats getting fat? The food that we feed our cats and dogs is making them fat and unhealthy. This video is a review of the ingredients that are commonly found in dog and cat food. Like our processed food, you will find that most cat and dog food is filled with grains and starched. These are cheap carbohydrates that cause an insulin response in the body of the cat or dog. That insulin response creates fat storage. Popular advice for people who are overweight is for them to reduce their calories and exercise more. This simplistic approach won’t work with your favorite pet and would not result is weight loss for your cat or dog. It is natural to assume that the diet that you eat is healthy for your pet. The marketing of pet food plays on that false assumption, but your cat or dog was not designed to eat grain. In the wild your cat or dog would hunt and eat meat. Your can and dog need to eat a primal diet. That is your pet’s natural diet. Your goal should be to keep your pet’s food as close to their natural diet as possible. Look for a pet food that has no grains and is low in carbohydrates. That will result in your cat or dog not becoming obese and diabetic, but also in your pet being healthier overall. www.BryanMarcel.com

RAW FEEDING my cat at home

My cat has been eating eating raw meat and bones for nearly a year now. It took him a little while to get used to the idea of actually USING his natural talents of tearing meat and slicing through bones, but now he LOVES it. It’s just the best feeling I get when i watch him chewing and gnawing happily. WARNING – DO NOT FEED COOKED BONES AS THEY WILL SPLINTER. Raw bones, do not splinter…cats eat bird/mouse bones all the time and they are tiny and very sharp, so these bones are no different. Cats/dogs are DESIGNED to do this! It is also safe because a carnivore’s stomach is incredibly acidic and will digest more efficiently than our own stomachs. Cats will be fussy about the smell of meat and will not eat it if it is going off, but dogs don’t care! This is because Cats and dogs have different amounts of acid in their stomachs. Both capable of digesting bones, but dogs are better at digesting bacteria . BEST OF LUCK – IT IS WORTH WHILE You will save money too, not just on vet bills, because cats/dogs fed on raw bones don’t get tartar build up and gingivitis, but also I get much of my raw meat and bones from the butchers scraps, which I get for free :-) Give your cat a variety of meats, including beef heart, but avoid liver as it has too much vitamin A. Give only 1 teaspoon a week. Also give raw eggs. Start slowly. Don’t expect a mature cat to understand what to do straight away. Perhaps just start with raw meat, no bones. also I had to hand feed this cat for about a month
